After a short warm-up program in one of the cozy beach bars, we finally go to the dance temples on the party mile "Calle Antonio Ruiz Coves", where several dozen shops for different musical tastes line up along a length of a few hundred meters. Especially recommendable are the OZ, the Nova, the Mojitos as well as the Love, which promises endless fun even for the most hardened night owls thanks to its long opening hours until 8 o'clock in the morning.

The regional cuisine is characterised by its proximity to the sea, so you should try specialities such as black rice with squid (arròs negre), shellfish (caldero) and grilled prawns with garlic (gambas al ajillo). A good meal is rounded off by a strong red wine from the local vineyards.

If you want to see the picturesque coastal landscape from above, you can go from your vacation rental on the outskirts of the city on a narrow path up to the lighthouse of Santa Pola, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view from its viewing platform.

Would you like to be close to the rulers of the oceans? Then you can set off from Torrevieja to Europe's largest aquarium in nearby Valencia. On an area of over 110,000 square metres, the 45,000 animals include Beluga whales, dolphins, crocodiles and various shark species.

Technology lovers will find an absolute highlight in the submarine museum not far from their vacation rental at the harbour. Climb down into the decommissioned S-61 Dolphin submarine and explore the floating museum from the bridge over the galley to the torpedo room.
